Big Dog is one of seven kittens from two separate litters who were abandoned/separated from their mothers before being weaned. They were bottle fed until reaching the age for adoption. By that time we had become attached to three of them, for three separate reasons. Big Dog was always first in line at the feeding station and got his name for that attitude and the fact that within three weeks he was three times the size of any of his littermates. If we had waited until he found his voice we probably would have called him Little Mouse instead. For a huge honking male he has the wimpiest mew we've ever heard, which we hear often because the Big Dog is afraid to be alone. If he wakes and can't see another cat or human he begins crying and whines until he finds companionship. Big Dog, RIGHT!
